About Edward Hamlin

Edward Hamlin is a native New Yorker who spent his formative years in Chicago. A graduate of the University of Chicago, he studied Sanskrit, classical Tibetan and Buddhist literature before embarking on a career in the human service arena.

Edward’s writing has been published widely and recognized with a number of awards, including the Nelson Algren Award and the Iowa Short Fiction Award. For details, see Publications and Recognition.

Edward is also an accomplished guitarist whose work has appeared on several CDs as well as on film. About his playing, Minor 7th Magazine said “The tone is elegiac…one hears surrender to the allure of the instrument, all in itself.”

Edward Hamlin lives with his wife in the Colorado Rockies.
