Edward Hamlin was the winner of the 2015 Iowa Short Fiction Prize for Night in Erg Chebbi and Other Stories, whose title story was selected by two-time National Book Award finalist Jim Shepard as winner of the 2013 Nelligan Prize for Short Fiction. In 2016, Night in Erg Chebbi won the Colorado Book Award.
Since 2013, Edward has been a finalist or runner-up for the Mary C. Mohr Editors’ Prize, Missouri Review Editors’ Prize, Narrative Story Prize, Myerson Fiction Prize, Press 53 Fiction Award, Mary McCarthy Award, UK Bridport Prize, Chicago Tribune Nelson Algren and Tupelo Quarterly Fiction Open awards. In 2015 he won the NCW Short Fiction Prize for his story “Indígena” as well as the Top of the Mountain Prize for his unpublished novel “Grace.” His fiction can be found in magazines, read online, and seen on the stage.
